The industrial complex remains the most important branch of the domestic economy. According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the end of 2016, the number of employed people in the industry is 12.7% of the total number of economically active population. The share of industrial production is about 30% of GDP.
In view of the annual growth of the industry, the international standards of the OSH management system are being adopted by an increasing number of companies. Their integration into the management system is conditioned by Kazakhstan’s desire to certify the facilities of the country’s economy and industry for compliance with the world requirements for various aspects of the activities of enterprises, including security requirements.
In addition to creating optimal working conditions for personnel the effective OSH management system allows you to use production resources rationally, increase labour productivity and improve the quality of products manufactured or services provided. The compliance with the international standards helps convince consumers that products are reliable, efficient and safe for the environment. This condition is necessary for the implementation of the policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on entering the list of 30 competitive countries of the world, as it will expand the borders of trade and economic relations.
Thus, the agenda of the conference “Ensuring Safe Working Conditions at Work - the Right Vector for Safe Work Culture” will cover all issues of ensuring security at production facilities. The speakers will present research works, regulatory and practical solutions, and also will discuss the introduction of new technologies to ensure occupational safety and health in the workplaces.
